The academic committee is in charge of planning three of Honor Society's biggest events: GRE prep seminars, our etiquette dinner in the fall and the honoring our professors dinner in the spring. We also oversee the honor society's peer reading program with a local elementary school.
Social committee is comprised of hard working individuals. These individuals are tasked with planning social events each semester both big and small. In recent years we have volunteered in campus events such as SWIPE Out Hunger, and have been the largest volunteer group, where we packaged over 35,000 meals to send abroad to Haiti and domestically as well to help with hurricane relief.
The development committee is responsible for allocating funds for those that have applied for the development fund and raising funds for the organization. The development fund reimburses students for graduate exams, conferences, study abroad classes, and additional academic events to help students develop academically and professionally.
The publicity committee focuses on the publicity of the Fort Hays Honor Society, which includes publicizing FHHS events and compiling a newsletter each semester that covers the FHHS activities and events from the past semester.
The service committee's main focus is preparing for and organizing Disability Awareness Week (D.A.W.) and hosting the events and activities that comprise the three days of D.A.W. that are centered on physical, mental, and learning disabilities. Throughout the rest of the year, this committee coordinates various service projects for all of the members of the Fort Hays State Honor Society.
